My walk with the Lord started when I was a teenager. My parents have always had a solid faith and in our home it was common to discuss church and its various activities.

I was raised to live a moral life and to help others. In my teenage years even as I became rebellious and didn’t want to go to church anymore, I was still connected with Christian youth groups.

I was born in Anaheim, California to a loving, stable family.  At the time, my father and mother were very strong Jehovah Witnesses...

At the age of 5 there was one Saturday which will stick in my mind forever.  This was probably one of the only Saturdays, almost since I was born that I was not required to go out with my father door to door. It was on this Saturday that my father was in the backseat of a car that was hit in the side head on, and he was instantly killed. By this point, my parents had four little boys.

...I had to come to a point where I made a decision that I was going to follow Jesus through all of my struggles, and not just trust Him when it was easy.

My Life Story – Sean Davis

My walk with the Lord started when I was a teenager. My parents have always had a solid faith and in our home it was common to discuss church and its various activities.

I was raised to live a moral life and to help others. In my teenage years even as I became rebellious and didn’t want to go to church anymore, I was still connected with Christian youth groups. As the famous poem “Footprints” goes; the Lord carried me as I faced many difficulties and trials, even though I didn’t acknowledge His presence in my life.

In my early twenties after a few years in University, I started to explore the New Age, self help books and the occult.  As I dabbled in these things I started down a destructive path that lead me into a very unhealthy and unsafe lifestyle. The internet was a key which unlocked me to a whole new world of fantasy and immorality. What started off as curiosity, turned into a lifestyle of control, role play and in-sensitivity. Wrong became right and right became wrong. I hid my sin and was living a lie, I knew what I was doing was wrong yet I didn’t turn away from it. Yet throughout all this the Lord never let go of me.

In the midst of this I met my wife and we were married for 9 years. For a short period of time as a family we attended TLC and our kids went to Christian School, yet all along our true life lay in the shadows of darkness. It was like being a double agent, having a secret identity that we kept hidden from our children and family, but we couldn’t keep it from the Lord.

In 2010 the Lord started to convict my heart that the life I was leading was dangerous and unhealthy. I began to miss my walk with Christ and our home life quickly spun out of control. In May 2011 my wife and I separated. I returned to Lifecentre and moved in with my parents, very scared, disoriented, and broken. Yet the Lord, my family & Lifecentre welcomed me back with open arms and unconditional love.

I was ready to change, so I jumped into everything and anything that could help me grow. I got connected at Lifecentre and took Starting Point. I began volunteering, I joined Life Training and Celebrate Recovery. The Lord helped close the doors to the people and my past lifestyle, replacing them with many solid believers in Christ! In exposing my past to the Light of Christ, the Lord is now pouring healing into my heart and restoring my life as a disciple for Christ. I also have the great privilege of leading a Men’s group, focusing on fellowship in Christ and social activities.

I can’t put into words my gratitude to the Lord, my family and my network of support in Christ Jesus. Even as I write this, I am emotional, but also so very thankful to my God “The Lord Jesus Christ” for not letting go of me and for restoring my life for His Glory! If God can restore me and redeem all that I have lost then he can certainly do it for you!

Sometimes it seems as though men don't get a chance to really share their own individual stories and lessons of the blessings, triumphs, and even tragedy at times in their lives. We believe that one of the things that we can benefit from as men, and as servants of God, is to connect with other men that have great advice and wisdom that God has used in their lives to help them in the battle that is "life" sometimes. This section of the website is dedicated to sharing with you the amazing and awesome things that God has done, and the things that He is continuing to do in the lives of men all over the world, as well as here in the Ottawa area. Before you read this section, take a moment to ask God to speak into your heart and life about a similar area of triumph or struggle in your own life, knowing that God wants to give you His timely and necessary wisdom and encouragement to continue serving God with all of your heart. We know that the result will be an excellent one as He continues to work in and through your life day by day.
